Philosophy of Science and Art

The branch of Philosophy that covers the foundations, methods and assumptions in the field of science is Philosophy of Science. Here we strive to understand how science works, what makes the scientific knowledge authentic and reliable and what is the nature of explanation based on scientific knowledge. The topics which are explored in Philosophy of science by philosophers include scientific method, causation of different things, induction and distinguishing science from pseudo science which means distinguishing science from common sense.

Other questions are also addressed in the Philosophy of Science, such as realism of science, what is nature of existence of things which are still undiscovered, what is the limit of scientific knowledge and hence by answering these questions it adds an increment of knowledge on scientific theories and also to the critical thinking.
